Barrington Duane Gidney Jr, originally from Wilmington Delaware, received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Xavier University of Louisiana in 2000. After graduating, Duane worked for the New Orleans City Government and Xavier University before answering the call to ministry with the inner-city ministry “Urban Impact”. While at Urban Impact, Duane was able to use his increasing love for God and people in the areas of recreation and college age ministry. From 2004 to 2008 Duane acted as the Associate Pastor of Castle Rock Community Church under the leadership of Pastor John Gerhardt. In 2008, Duane entered the Masters of Divinity program at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, subsequently earning his degree in 2013. While in seminary, Duane was called to Pastor in the Hollygrove community of New Orleans and is now one of the Co-Pastors at Level Ground Community Church. Along with pastoring, Duane is currently a chaplain for a local hospice and a member of different local civic and community organizations. Most importantly in 2009 Duane married the woman of his dreams, Anthonika Miles, and they have three beautiful children, Cordelia, Barrington and Miles. In all he does Duane looks to use his talents, resources, and opportunities to glorify God.
Born and raised in Southwest Louisiana, Daylon grew up with a passion to care for others. Upon graduating from high school, he came to New Orleans to pursue a career in the medical field and to help in the physical healing of the sick. God enabled him to complete his Doctorate of Medicine and to practice medicine in the city. Feeling the call of God to also aid in the spiritual healing of individuals, Dr. Taylor attended the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where he was able to complete a Master of Divinity with a specialization in Christian Apologetics. Daylon is passionate about telling others about the love which is found in Jesus. This love can heal whatever ails a person. He has previously served as a Senior Pastor, Young Adult Pastor, Children’s Minister, Elder, Minister and Deacon in the service of the Lord. He counts it a privilege and an honor to serve with his friends and brothers at Level Ground Community Church. He is a son to two wonderful parents (Mother is in Heaven) and brother to four lovely sisters.
