Barrington Duane Gidney Jr, originally from Wilmington Delaware, received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Xavier University of Louisiana in 2000. After graduating, Duane worked for the New Orleans City Government and Xavier University before answering the call to ministry with the inner-city ministry “Urban Impact”. While at Urban Impact, Duane was able to use his increasing love for God and people in the areas of recreation and college age ministry. From 2004 to 2008 Duane acted as the Associate Pastor of Castle Rock Community Church under the leadership of Pastor John Gerhardt. In 2008, Duane entered the Masters of Divinity program at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, subsequently earning his degree in 2013. While in seminary, Duane was called to Pastor in the Hollygrove community of New Orleans and is now one of the Co-Pastors at Level Ground Community Church. Along with pastoring, Duane is currently a chaplain for a local hospice and a member of different local civic and community organizations. Most importantly in 2009 Duane married the woman of his dreams, Anthonika Miles, and they have three beautiful children, Cordelia, Barrington and Miles. In all he does Duane looks to use his talents, resources, and opportunities to glorify God.
